Svenskkul is a Swedish school/playgroup in Wellington, New Zealand which is run by voulenteers. This blog will keep the most up to date information on what we are up to, Events, Activities, fees etc
Svenskkul
Background
Svenskkul started in 2005 by a group of mothers who found it difficult to keep the Swedish language alive, especially among school-age children. Most of them don't grasp why they would need to speak Swedish. The idea behind Svenskkul is that speaking Swedish should be fun. The children should get to know other Swedish children and feel a part of a Swedish community. At the same time there was a need to be able to help each other teach the kids to read Swedish, to give them a chance to study in Sweden should they want to. And so that they can read Bamse. :-)

Fees for 2011:
As of 2011, Svenskkul will only run the Sunday Events which doesn't require a membership fee.
