Kandallah pool - Sunday 28th February

Great to see so many of you at the Midsummer celebration, I counted 25kids!!! Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Our next Sunday event will be next Sunday, the 28th February. We will meet at Kandallah outdoor pool. Please bring your togs and a picnic.
If the weather has turned cold or it's raining, we will move the event to Kilbirnie pools.

Midsummer - 14th of Feb

Svenskkul's first Social Sunday Event will be together with the Sweden-New Zealand Association. We will celebrate midsummer the Swedish way with a picnic, maypole and fiskedamm.
Please note, this event is free of charge, but it's essential you register you child so they may participate in the Fiskedamm (a very special treat that the Sweden-New Zealand Association offers for free). Please call Eva on 021-0668 612 or email eva@sweden.org.nz and let her know how many children you will bring

Skolstart - Tuesday 9th Feb!

Happy New Year!
Hope you all had a well deserved break!

Svenskkul will start 2010 on Tuesday the 9th Feb, in our new format, where we have school work on Tuesday evenings and meet for fun social events on the last Sunday of each month.

Please note - as we are still at Kandallah Community Centre on Tuesday evenings, younger siblings are welcome to come along for a play should you wish to bring them.

God Jul och Gott Nytt År!


Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at Svenskkul.
Svenskkul are now taking a well deserved break.
We will start again on Tuesday the 9th February with school work and our social Sundays on 14th February with Midsummer celebration together with Sweden-New Zealand Association

Jul pyssel, 6th December 2009


This Sunday, 6th December, is the last Svenskkul Sunday of the year (except for the Lucia party).
We will practise the Lucia songs, create smällkarameller and other Christmas decorations. The decorations will be used to decorate our Xmas tree on the Lucia party. The children will be able to bring the decorations home after the Xmas party.

Lucia - End of Year Celebration


Svenskkul has had a busy year and now it's time to celebrate!
This year we will celebrate Lucia on the actual Lucia day, 13 December!!!
We will meet as previous year at Whitby (Western Suburbs) Soccer Club.
Cost: $5 + a plate of baked goods to share - per adult, and children over 2 years
Pay at the door, but please do send an email to svenskkul@sweden.org.nz
and let us know you are coming so we can cater for coffee, glögg, juice etc.
Grandparents, aunties, neighbours etc, eveyone welcome!

Kids who want to join the Lucia possession, please be there at 10.30 for a 11.00 start.
After the Lucia performance we will have a snack and then dance around the Xmas tree.

At the very end, Santa will come - Please bring a named $2 present for your child!!
